Yard debris piles up faster than the town pickup schedule allows. A wind storm drops half a maple, a hedge gets torn out, a spring cleanup leaves eight contractor bags on the tree lawn — and the brush pickup week is not for another month.
LaFata Disposal Services hauls brush, branches, leaves, sod and general yard debris across the Syracuse area on your schedule instead of the town's.
Central New York gets both ends of it: heavy spring cleanups after a long winter, and October and November storms that drop limbs on lawns and fences. We run both, and we can be out within days rather than waiting for a seasonal collection window.
Yard debris we take
- Brush, branches and small limbs
- Cut logs and stump pieces (size limits apply)
- Bagged and loose leaves
- Hedge and shrub trimmings, and pulled shrubs
- Sod, dirt and small amounts of stone
- Old wood fencing and posts
- Rotted landscape timbers and railroad ties
- Storm debris and downed limbs
- Broken planters, pots and garden equipment
How the pickup works
1. Photo of the pile
Volume is what drives the price. A photo with something for scale gets you an accurate number in minutes.
2. Piled or scattered, either way
A staged pile is faster and therefore cheaper, but we can collect debris spread across the yard as well.
3. Loaded and hauled
Brush and clean wood go to a facility that processes organics rather than to landfill wherever possible.
4. Yard raked
We rake the area where the pile sat so you are not left with a bare patch full of sticks.
Who books yard waste removal
- Homeowners after a spring or fall cleanup
- People who just had trees or shrubs taken out
- Property owners after a wind or ice storm
- Landscapers who do not haul their own debris
- Landlords cleaning up an overgrown rental yard
Some Syracuse-area towns limit brush collection to specific weeks and require bundles under a set length. If your pile does not fit those rules, or you simply do not want it sitting at the curb for three weeks, this is the alternative.
Large-diameter logs and full stumps are weight-heavy and priced separately — send a photo and we will tell you before we arrive.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to bag the leaves?
Bagged is faster to load, but we can rake and load loose leaves as well for a bit more labor.
Will you take a whole tree that came down?
We take cut and manageable sections. We are not a tree service, so felling and large-trunk cutting should be done first.
How soon can you come?
Usually within a few days, and often sooner. After a major storm the schedule tightens, so call early.
Can you take dirt and sod?
Yes, in reasonable quantities. Soil is heavy, so volume limits apply per truck load.
